On Sept 26 last year, FIFA, in an official statement, confirmed that FAM and the seven players were found to have breached Article 22 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code.

FAM acting president Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mahadi said the sponsor had contacted the association and sent an official letter, but stressed that it was only to seek clarification on the situation.
