A total of 17 family members of victims of the Darul Quran Ittifaqiyah Tahfiz Centre fire in Datuk Keramat nine years ago, along with 14 former students, have been awarded RM1.43 million in damages in a civil suit against the centre’s owner and MAIWP.

The motorcyclist, Muhammad Zuhair Rifqi Abdul Jalil, 21, (left) was pronounced dead at the scene, while his pillion rider, Muhammad Firdaus Mohamad Zamri, succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the HTAA Red Zone.

On June 1, 2017, Zulfarhan was found with burn marks and bruises in an apartment in Serdang at about 8pm and was pronounced dead at about 10pm at the Serdang Hospital.
