A security guard pleaded guilty at the Johor Bahru Sessions Court to 13 charges of committing sexual offences against his six-year-old daughter in January and February.

The child's charred body was found after firefighting efforts were carried out on the 10th floor of the residential block.

Initial investigations found that the woman had been operating as a caregiver for two years but was not registered with the Social Welfare Department.

The case is being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001 for abuse, neglect, abandonment or exposure of a child in a manner likely to cause physical and emotional injury.
