he ringgit closed lower against the greenback today, weighed by a stronger US dollar due to better macro data from the United States (US) and renewed interest in safe-haven currencies.

The ringgit opened on a strong note against the US dollar as well as several major Asian and non-Asian currencies today, while the greenback weakened after the US Fed raised its key interest rates to a 22-year high.

The ringgit opened lower against the US dollar today as the greenback strengthened following higher United States (US) Treasury yields, said analysts.
