'Come back, bro', social media users urge Rafizi to return to politics

SHAH ALAM: PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli 's reply to a tweet has set the social media abuzz with supporters urging him to return to politics after maintaining a low profile since 2018 elections.

This comes after a social media user urged the 44-year old to return to politics as the country faces political turmoil.

“Bro @rafiziramli, please make a comeback. I have no idea on the direction of the country. We still have work to do and we need your service. Let’s start from the bottom, the reformation agenda must be completed for the sake of our children in the future,” @reformist wrote

Rafizi replied that he did not reply immediately as there are several considerations before returning to politics.

“Insya-Allah, I would need to perform the istikhara prayers (a prayer recited by Muslims in need of guidance) as well as to discuss with the family, shareholders and my team members.

“When we are in a political zone, we must set our intentions straight,” the former Pandan MP replied.

Another social media user is of the opinion personalities like Rafizi should step forward as the country looks for someone with constructive ideas.

“Just one more time. Malaysians are confident (that) your intentions are genuine and clean for the nation. So I hope to hear the good news soon ! Appreciate (that) you are re-considering ! TQ bro” Dr Rais Hussin, the former Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) chairman replied.

Rais further tweeted: "We must surely be missing @rafiziramli! Come back bro! One more time!"

The tweet garnered over 400 replies with majority of them urging him to be active in politics.

In Dec 2019, Rafizi had announced of quitting politics to focus on his new career in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT).
