Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins dies at 50

SHAH ALAM - Foo Fighters longtime drummer Taylor Hawkins has died at the age of 50.
International news reports said Hawkins was found dead in a hotel room in the north of Bogota, Colombia where the band was due to play at a festival on Friday night.
However, the cause of death had not been announced.
It was reported that shortly after Hawkins' death was announced, dozens of fans began to gather outside the hotel where the band had been staying.
The band had on their Instagram account wrote “The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins. His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever”
Musicians and celebrities such as Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello, Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy, Ozzy Osbourne, Steve Albini and Finneas also paid tribute to the drummer on their social media for his contribution in the American music industry.
“God bless you Taylor Hawkins. I loved your spirit and your unstoppable rock power,” Morello wrote.
Meanwhile, Portnoy expressed his emotions towards the passing of the rock musician by saying that he always had so much admiration towards Hawkins.
Hawkins was born in Fort Worth, Texas and moved to Southern California with his family in his early childhood. He joined the Foo Fighters in 1997.
He is survived by his wife Alison, and their teenage children Oliver and Annabelle.
