'If I was the prime minister, I would strengthen MACC and sort out racism, says Mat Sabu

SHAH ALAM - Former Defense Minister Mohamad Sabu said he will strengthen the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and sort of racism if he was the Prime Minister.

This is because there is a need to sort of racism issues in the country, stating that the Malays should be competing with the Chinese instead of boycotting them.

“I am not satisfied right now. When we talk about workshops, the Malays would say how successful the Chinese are. What about the Malays?

“Why don't we want to compete with them? Learn and compete so that we can open workshops too,” he said said during Sinar Harian's talk "Bersama Johan Jaaffar.

Due to that the concept of asabiyah, where social solidarity, unity, group consciousness, and a sense of shared competitiveness is instilled in Malaysia.

When asked about the readiness for arm fprces to face any eventuality, he said Malaysian arm forces are well trained, highly motivated especially to tackle guerrillas.

The Amanah president commonly known as Mat Sabu was also asked on Shia practices as its followers are persecuted in Malaysia.
