JELEBU - The aftermath of last December flash floods at Rimba Eco Jeram Toi tourists centre is seen till today.

Negeri Sembilan Forestry Department Director Saleh Awaludin said the flash floods destroyed several amenities in the area.

"The structure of Toi River has changed. It is wider and has branched off to other streams.

"The effects of the destruction and landslides are clearly seen. Many trees have fallen and piles of logs are still there collecting dirt, mud, and sand causing the water to be murky," he said.

Sinar Harian previously quoted Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun saying the repair and rebuilding work could take time.

Aminuddin said the recreation centre will remain a destination for tourists in Negeri Sembilan and it will be undergo rebuilding with a cost of between RM2 million to RM3 million.

"It is still a high risk are with many sharp rocks, sharp pieces of wood and barbed wires," he said.

It will be reopened once the construction work was completed, he said. The rebuilding work will include new toilets, surau and office blocks.
