KUALA LUMPUR - The energetic stunts displayed by the Commando 69 elite unit and Tiger Platoon with their parachute technique and demonstration of a raid on a criminal hideout have left the audiences in awe.

The stunts were showcased during the Road March 2022 programme, in conjunction with the 215th Police Day celebration at Dataran Merdeka, here, on Saturday.

Personnel from the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) has also demonstrated their skills operating high-powered motorcycles by performing dangerous stunts such as “wheelie”, avoiding obstacles, and riding the motorcycles and making a formation.

Hundreds of citizens flooded the Dataran Merdeka since early in the morning as they did not want to miss the opportunity to get a 50 per cent discount on traffic summonses which was offered by the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) in conjunction with the programme.

PDRM secretary Datuk Noorsiah Mohd Saaduddin said that the programme which was held for the first time, aimed at bringing together people from all walks of society to witness the acts performed by personnel from various units in PDRM.

“This kind of initiative was something different in the Police Day commemoration calendar this year, which is one of PDRM's efforts to reach out to the community in line with the theme “Police and The Community, Will Not Separate”,” she said in a statement on Saturday.

Also present during the programme were the Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani, Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime Investigation Department director Datuk Ayub Khan Mydin Pitchay and Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Azmi Abu Kassim.
