SHAH ALAM - PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli will be exposing the name of a ‘shark’ who is alleged to have been involved in the littoral combat ships (LCS) project fiasco tomorrow (Aug 22).

In a Facebook post today, he said the person who is a politician could be named as there was proof linking the person to the purported misappropriated funds in the project.

“I have made the decision to name the politician to avoid several ikan bilis (anchovies) from being made as scapegoats while the "sharks" roam freely.

“Let the whole country know. #AyuhMalaysia, let's fight against those who had robbed the people of their money," he wrote.

On Aug 4, Public Accounts Committee chairman Wong Kah Woh revealed that cost overruns for the LCS project totalled RM1.4 billion, with RM400 million used to pay old debts from an old patrol vessel project.

The said contract began in 2013 with a ten-year time frame and six LCS ships were expected to be built and delivered to the country by the end of 2023, however not a single ship had been completed although Putrajaya had spent RM6 billion on the project, which was given to Boustead Naval Shipyard Sdn Bhd (BNS) in 2011 through direct negotiations.
