SHAH ALAM - After finding himself in hot water over his controversial comment on judiciary prosecution, Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi now retorts that he is a victim of misreporting.

In a statement on Facebook, Zahid clarified that his remark on Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders will be hauled up in the courts if they lose the coming 15th General Election (GE15) was misinterpreted as him making a mockery of the judiciary.

Instead, what he meant was that BN leaders will face selective political prosecution -- designed to tarnish their reputation -- should BN lose GE15.

"I do not need to explain in detail because the BN leadership understands it and so does our members and even the majority of the people gets what I was trying to convey.

"So, it is no wonder why some are willing to jump ship to save themselves in order to stay politically alive," Zahid added.

He also noted that those who continued to needle on his remark was essentially afraid that they might face similar fate if BN wins GE15.

“Our opponents are afraid of a 'what you give you get back' scenario.

“That is why they strongly object GE15 being held because they expect BN to retaliate once it governs the country," Zahid said.

An eye for an eye however, Zahid assured, will not happen in BN wins GE15.

“As I've stated over and over again, I bear no grudges. I always forgive but I never forget," he stressed.
