SHAH ALAM - Umno was reminded not to get too excited over the prospect of winning the coming 15th General Election (GE15).

PKR central leadership council member, Siti Aishah Shaik Ismail deemed that nothing has been cast in stone yet adding that it was unwise for Umno to forecast their victory based on their previous triumphs at the Melaka and Johor polls.

This was so, said Siti Aishah, becauuse many people did not go out to vote at that time due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

"Umno shouldn't feel too proud because in terms of popular votes, it only experience a one per cent increment.

"It means that Umno is very much aware that many did not go out to vote.

"And those who went to vote were only their staunch supporters," she said.

She was speaking at the 370th edition of Wacana Sinar programme titled "Demi Rakyat or Kuasa" hosted by Sinar Harian last night.

Meanwhile, Siti Aishah disclosed that all components in Pakatan Harapan (PH) had agreed to nominate PKR president, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as PH's candidate for prime minister in GE15.

"I am sure it will be welcomed by the people at the lower level," she said.
