SHAH ALAM - Politicians who have erred the people were today told, not just to repent but to also stay out of the coming 15th General Elections (GE15) and give way to young leaders to instead.

The frank reminder was spoken by Karangkraf Media Group founder Datuk Hussamuddin Yaacub who stressed that those involved in corruption cases or scandals should stop volunteering themselves to the leaders as the country deserved better leaders.

“They should give a chance for the country to be led by those with honesty, integrity, smart and are able to provide solutions for the country.

“Give a chance to these people instead,” he said during the ‘Kompas: GE15 Special Edition’ show entitled 'The People are the Boskau' by Sinar Harian.

Hussamuddin, who spearheaded the anti-graft movement, Rasuah Busters, believed that GE15 is a chance for the politicians and the voters to redeem themselves following the political instabilities that occured after the previous election.

He argued that the people no longer trust political parties, but also admitted its necessity to the country.

“GE15 is a chance for everyone to redeem themselves, because we know now that the people have no trust in the political parties but the political system in our country requires them.

“I believe there is a need for a balance where the parties should take this chance to transform themselves and also give a chance to the young leaders,” he said.

He added the young leaders must be given more opportunities to lead the country since this is a different era and progressive solutions from the young people are a must, as evident from the young leaders across the world.

As GE15 loomed closer, Hussamuddin urged the voters to choose the right people to bring transformation to the political landscape of the nation since the people are the ‘Boskau’ who hold the power to choose the leaders.

“The people need to choose the right people to transform the country’s politics.

“We will be the ones choosing the leaders which will also raise many young leaders for the next generation. We or you are the ‘Boskau’, and remember, ‘satu jari bebas rasuah’ [one finger can rid us of corruption],” he said, chanting the slogan of the #Satujari Rasuah Busters campaign.

On October 18, Rasuah Busters aunched the #Satujari campaign to empower the people in the 15th General Election vote, conveying a message and motivation of the importance of the value of one finger that casts a vote to bring change to Malaysia.
