KUALA LUMPUR - Batu Parliament Independent candidate Tian Chua today launches giant art project titled ‘The People’s Seat’, something which is different compares to other candidates,

The former Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice president said the 3.7 metre (m) and 6.1m height art pieces were placed in eight different locations around the area.

Tian Chua said the introduction of the sculpture was to remind all parties who contested the true meaning of the Parliamentary seat contested in every election.

"This is not a propaganda for Tian Chua to win, but I want this campaign to bring a philosophy for a far better election this time.

"The public realises that the seats contested by parties and politicians were truly owned by the people and the politicians that win when they sit in Parliament and debate for power must remember the seat they won was from the people," he said.

He said such during the launching ceremony of 'The People's Seat' in front of Sky Awani Residences, Jalan Sentul Pasar, here, on Monday.

The art installation would be placed in seven more locations in Sentul Market, Jalan Ipoh Batu 3, Jalan Ipoh Batu 5, Selayang Lotus's, Jalan Kuching Petronas, Taman Seri Murni and Bandar Baru Sentul.

Tian Chua said he hoped the message through the art would create a form of awareness for the people even after GE15.

He also defended his stance not to work together with BN and Perikatan Nasional (PN) if he wins the seat.

"I want to stress that my fight is not is not separated from the fight since I began as a reform activist and my stance as an MP would not change, from 2008 or since 1998.

"I have fought for reformation and all the rumours that I am conspiring with the enemy party, I will join PN, these are all baseless slander.

"I strongly reject it and urge everyone if we want to keep Batu as a seat for reform, gather your votes and support me," he said.

The competition in Batu Parliament in GE15 witnessed the 10 corner clash involving its incumbent P Prabakaran from Pakatan Harapan (PH), Datuk A Kohilan Pillay (BN) and Azhar Yahya (PN).

Other candidates were P Naganathan (Parti Warisan Malaysia) and lawyer Wan Azliana Wan Adnan (Parti Pejuang Tanah Air).
