GE15: Some seats in Johor already in our 'grasps' – Rafizi

JOHOR BAHRU - Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) deputy president Rafizi Ramli claims that some of the parliamentary seats in the state were already in the party's 'grasps' ahead of the 15th General Election (GE15).
Rafizi, who is also the Johor State Governing Council (MPN) chairman said the development was after they saw the latest support and readings, especially in southern Johor which was in favour of PKR and Pakatan Harapan (PH).
"InsyaAllah if we follow the latest reading, we have already won in Johor Bahru and have also won in the southern seats of Johor including Pasir Gudang, Tebrau and Pulai," he said in his speech at the Ayuh Malaysia Kita Boleh programme at Dataran Larkin here on Wednesday night.
Also present were deputy president of Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub and candidates for the PH Johor Parliamentary seats, Hassan Abdul Karim (Pasir Gudang), Jimmy Puah Wee Tse (Tebrau) and Akmal Nasrullah Nasir (Johor Bahru).
Rafizi said the situation was very encouraged, thus showing that BN's decision to hold GE15 based on the Johor state election victory in March was misguided.
The PH candidate for the Pandan Parliamentary seat said BN seemed to dig its own grave after the latest developments did not favour them due to miscalculating the 'mood' of the people.
Meanwhile, Salahuddin, who is also PH Johor chairman, said voters should be wise to choose the party by giving victory to PH as it also fielded professional candidates such as doctors, lawyers and architects.
"PH also has a lot of credible figures who can be ministers, what's different with us is that we are not corrupt, we don't take people's money and we don't gamble people's mandates with personal interests," he said.
The matter, he said, could be proved during the 22 months of PH ruling the country when none of the coalition leaders were convicted in a court case.
"This is the best way to rebuild Malaysia, we dreamt of it not for us, but for the next generation," he said, who is also PH's candidate for the Pulai Parliamentary seat.
In the meantime, Dr Maszlee claimed, he received many complaints from teachers who are now burdened with their immense responsibilities including being directed to do work outside of their duties.
The former Education Minister said all the problems would be solved if PH wins and returns to the government in Putrajaya after GE15.
