GE15: Twins excited to be first-time voters

They caught the attention of other voters as they arrived at the polling centre at Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Rinting 1 here, at about 7.50 am, as identical twins Dayana Zulqamarina Zulkifli and Dayini Zulqamaria Zulkiflidresse were attired in identical outfits and sharing an umbrella as it was raining.
"From the very beginning, we have been reading and looking up information on how to vote, as well as on the backgrounds of the candidates we are going to vote for.
"We hope that no matter who wins and rules, the government puts the people first and pays attention to aspects such as transport and employment," said Dayana Zulqamarina to reporters at the polling centre today.
Dayana is also thankful that she finally has the opportunity to have a part in deciding the country's future, since she was unable to do so before for health reasons.
The twins also hope that the government will bring constructive changes, especially for the younger generation.
Dayana Zulqamarina and Dayini Zulqamaria, from Taman Sierra Perdana, are voters in the Pasir Gudang parliamentary constituency, which witnesses a four-cornered fight involving Barisan Nasional's (BN) Noor Azleen Ambros, incumbent Hassan Abdul Karim (Pakatan Harapan), Mohamad Farid Abdul Razak (Perikatan Nasional) and Mohammad Raffi Beran (Pejuang).
Meanwhile, the BN candidate for Kota Tinggi, Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, who is also UMNO vice-president and a voter in the Pasir Gudang parliamentary constituency, fulfilled his responsibility to vote today.
"Despite the rainy weather in Pasir Gudang this morning, it did not stop voters from fulfilling their duty, and I believe that the percentage of those who will come out to vote will remain high,” said the former Johor menteri besar, who once held the said parliamentary seat. - BERNAMA
