SHAH ALAM – Be careful of bad advisors (bitanah al-su’), former minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Seri Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri advises Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

This, he said, due to the fact that the group were able to lift as well as bring down the newly-appointed premier.

Zulkifli, who is the former former Federal Territory Mufti, reminded Anwar that Malaysia was a Muslim-majority country thus those who sacrificed and struggled in the previous generations in raising Malaysia’s name in the eyes of the world should be appreciated.

“You’re the successor and its decider. Maintain Islam in your homeland with all your spirit,” he said in a statement on his Facebook recently.

Zulkifli said the previous prime ministers starting from Datuk Seri Najib Razak, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had appropriate advice delivered to them from time to time for guidance.

“May Allah SWT bare witness that I have fulfilled my responsibilities to the leaders. I do not advise except on the basis of love for the country, religion and race,” he said.

Zulkifli also upheld his respect towards the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah as well as the King’s Council for their wisdom in resolving the 15th General Election (GE15) government formation.

“For those who have not succeeded, it is not the end of it all.

“InsyaAllah there is a better fate for those who continue to be patient, sincere and steadfast.

“Malaysia will not succeed without an opposition that carefully does its checks and balances.

“For Malaysians of all races and religion, this is what we went through in GE15. Take a deep breath and accept any decision with an open mind.

“Winning is not glorious, losing is not a downfall. Stop the culture of cursing at each other. Let’s not make this time for revenge,” he said.
