KOTA KINABALU - Istana Seri Kinabalu is once again in the spotlight as speculations rife over the fall of the present state government lead by Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

This comes after Sabah BN had announced that they will withdraw support from Hajiji.

Sinar Harian's visit to the palace entrance saw no vehicles so far.

However, some media representatives have started to gather as early as 12 noon to follow the current developments at Istana Seri Kinabalu.

Meanwhile, Sindumin assemblyman Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob however said there are no instructionsgiven to him to go to the palace so far.

"Nothing," he said when contacted by Sinar Harian.

Yesterday, Sabah Umno liaison committee chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, who is also state BN chairman, said they have loss confidence in Hajiji’s position as Chief Minsiter, in addition to a breach of agreement between BN and Perikatan Nasional (PN).

Bung Moktar had said BN and PN implemented an agreement to form the state government following the Sabah state elections in 2020, but Hajiji and other leaders of Sabah Bersatu, which is a component of PN, left the party, causing the state government to lose its legitimacy.

Bung Moktar had further claimed that Hajiji had threatened with a Cabinet reshuffle without any discussion.

He further said according to the Sabah state constitution, the chief minister must be chosen from a party with the majority.

"Hajiji is without a party, his standing is under GRS, which is a grand coalition party,” he was quoted as said.
