PUTRAJAYA - The commitment expressed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to make the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) a success through Malaysia Madani must be supported.

Entrepreneur Development and Cooperative Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick said all parties especially the leadership and the people of Sabah and Sarawak must support this effort as this was an important agenda.

"This is very important to the people of Sabah and Sarawak because we will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of Malaysia this year.

"In fact, as soon as he launched the Malaysia Madani agenda, he left for Sarawak to chair the Sabah Sarawak Special Action Meeting thus Anwar's commitment and leadership as Prime Minister must be supported," he said.

In a statement today, Ewon also welcomed Anwar's announcement to make Malaysia Madani as the new policy framework of the unity government.

He stated that he took the Prime Minister's mandate and vision to reject corruption as a guide to steer his ministry so the country will be respected by the global community.
