GEORGETOWN - Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Ramkarpal Singh is disappointed at the actions of the low-ranking officer who denied access for a woman to lodge a report as she broke the dress code for wearing a skirt above the knees.

Ramkarpal stated he would seek clarification as the dress code interpretations set were misleading and confusing.

He said the cases were lodged in desperate situations and required a sense of urgency.

"They shouldn't be asked to go home and dress accordingly as parties involved in road accidents must lodge reports quickly to prevent any negligence and for insurers to assess the cases correctly," he said as quoted from The Vibes.

Ramkarpal said police must implement a dress code for all facilities to ensure the public were not confused.
