Coming into my 30s, I realise how important it is to take care of my body. Little things that I used to take for granted, I now have to pay extra attention to.

In my 20s, it didn’t matter what shampoo brand I used, my tresses remained smooth, frizz-free, and easy to handle.

Now, being a mother and juggling the chaos of life, hair loss is an ongoing issue.

If you’re wondering, yes, stress and hair loss are related.

Apparently, hair loss getting more common nowadays due to high-stress levels.

Millennials who are juggling work and personal life may experience hair loss more nowadays.

TwoHerbs founder, Riff Lim shared with me that even the younger ones are experiencing hair loss.

“We have seen students going through hair loss due to using the wrong shampoo o applying shampoo the wrong way,” he said.

I often dismissed how important it is to care for my scalp and thought that a daily hair wash would suffice. It’s evident, that it’s not enough.

“When you brush your hair, observe the number of strands that come off the comb,” he said.

Whether hair loss affects men or women more, Lim said it’s more common for men.

“This is because it’s due to the testosterone level in their body. It could also be due to genetics, hair loss tends to get passed down to men rather than women,” he said.

So what can you do to maintain a healthy scalp?

Firstly, eat more protein as this can help with hair growth.

It’s recommended that you wash your hair at night time after a long day at work and apply hair tonic daily, this will supply extra nutrients that the body needs.

TREATMENT AT TWOHERBS

TwoHerbs mainly focuses on addressing the root (pun intended) of your hair problems.

I went for a hair loss treatment myself and was happy to learn that they use selected Chinese and ayurvedic herbs to help restore the hair’s strength and generate more hair growth.

Herbs like old ginger cleanse the scalp, while neem is an antiseptic herb. More herbs such as fenugreek, ginseng, Korean red ginseng, are also super ingredients that are good for the scalp.

After a quick scalp analysis, it was clear that I was ready for a scalp reset!

The treatment, which lasted for about an hour felt cooling on the scalp due to the herbs. After a blow dry, my scalp felt refreshed.

Do note that this treatment is not a one-and-done concept. You will need to come for several rounds of treatments to see improvements.

I went for the treatment in its Puchong outlet but f you’re looking to get your scalp treated, fret not as TwoHerbs is looking to expand to more locations!
