BACHOK - An engineer drowned while holidaying with his family at Pantai Kuala Gel, Melawi, here, yesterday.
Fauzan Azamuddin, 34, the Kota Bharu health department officer died at 7.03pm after he was rescued by those nearby.
The victim’s 37-year-old family member almost drowned with the engineer but was saved on time and brought to hospital for further treatment.
Bachok district police chief Superintendent Mohamad Ismail Jamaluddin confirmed the report of the incident.
He said the body was sent to the Kota Bharu Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital (HRPZ II) forensic department for an autopsy.
