Unofficial results see Wan Rosdy, Khaled and Johari win Umno vice president posts

SHAH ALAM - Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail tops the competition for Umno vice president after garnering the highest votes at 116.

Based on unofficial results released at 9am on Sunday two other leaders winning were Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin and Federal Territories Umno Chairman Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani.

Khaled, who was the incumbent, obtained 104 votes while the new face Johari garnered 96 votes.

The election witnessed two ministers and three deputy ministers successfully winning the Supreme Council competition.

Those winning were International Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz and Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir.

Otheres were Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan, Deputy Works Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Mohamad and Deputy Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah.

Two women successfully pushed through the Supreme Council competition which were Datuk Seri Shahaniza Shamsuddin and Datuk Zahida Zarik Khan.

Other leaders who made the cut for Supreme Council posts were Datuk Seri Bung Mokhtar Radin, Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub, Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim, Datuk Azian Osman and Datuk Dr Shaik Hussein Mydin, Datuk Mohd Razlan Muhammad Rafii, Datuk Seri Dr Md Alwi Che Ahmad and Datuk Abdul Rahman Mohamad.

The Umno permanent chairman post was won by Tan Sri Badruddin Amiruldin while the deputy post was won by Datuk Seri Abdul Fattah Abdullah.
