Ku Li capable of leading PH-BN coalition to win Kelantan state polls

KOTA BHARU - Veteran Umno leader Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah is the right person to lead the Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) coalitions in the upcoming state polls in Kelantan.
Parti Amanah Negara leadership council committee member Datuk Wan Abdul Rahim Wan Abdullah believed that Tengku Razaleigh, also known as Ku Li, was the best person to hold the election director's post.
He viewed Ku Li's stature as having an impact on the unity government's ability to win the election.
"We will be able to see a new wave in the state if Ku Li is appointed as the election director," he told reporters after chairing a meeting at the National Tobacco and Kenaf Viard (LKTN) on Monday.
The former Kelantan Amanah chairman said Ku Li is a local political figure with such stature since the late Tan Sri Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat.
Wan Abdul Rahim said Ku Li would help bring victory to PH and BN by defending the eight seats won in the 15th general election (GE15).
Meanwhile, he said the PH and BN coalition will give focus to the seats won by BN in GE14.
"We are confident that BN in the unity government is capable of doubling the seats to 16 from their current eight," he said.
He said it depends on the arrangements made by the unity government secretariat.
"I was informed that 90 per cent of the division of seats between PH and BN was done, but the Kota Lama state seat has yet to be decided.
"The decision may be made by leaders soon," he said.
He said the information received by Amanah focused on the Tanjung Mas area.
