KUALA LUMPUR - More than 20 million Touch ‘n Go eWallet users can now make bill payments via Bank Rakyat JomPAY with the Touch ‘n Go eWallet application.

Bank Rakyat chief executive officer (CEO) Dr Mohammad Hanis Osman said this partnership was part of the bank's digitalisation agenda outlined in its five-year strategic plan, Bank Rakyat 2025 (BR25).

"This tie-up marks the continuation of Bank Rakyat's digital transformation journey and ambition to reach new customer segments using e-wallet platforms.

"More importantly, it reinforces our commitment to bring new and innovative products to the market in this increasingly digital world," he said during the launching of Bank Rakyat's JomPAY Touch N' Go at Menara Kembar Bank Rakyat, here, today.

Hanis added that the fintech partnership aimed to further enhance bill payment experience and drive towards electronic payments.

"This strategic cooperation is one of the proactive measures to support the country's financial inclusion initiative, especially in the development of innovative products and services which are seen to be in line with one of the core values of Malaysia Madani, which is innovation.

"The main objective of financial inclusion is to ensure that financial services are accessible to every group of people, including financing facilities, deposits, payments and also financial literacy,” he said.

Meanwhile, Touch ‘N Go Digital Sdn Bhd CEO Alan Ni said the collaboration was crucial as it added JomPAY's network of over 10,000 billers to its existing bill payment partners.
