SHAH ALAM - DAP chairman Lim Guan Eng is fueling narrow racial and religious sentiments and provocations by accusing the 'Green Movement', said Pas information chief Khairil Nizam Khirudin.

Pas expresses disappointment over the statement made by Lim who claimed that Perikatan Nasional (PN) would destroy temples if they were to govern Penang.

"These baseless accusations and extreme statements are evidence of the true face of DAP's top leaders, who consistently stoke extreme racial and religious sentiments, creating a tense atmosphere among Malaysian society.

"This irresponsible statement indicates that DAP, in a desperate and ideologically bankrupt state, is resorting to cooperation with Umno due to a lack of ideas to campaign in the upcoming state election," Khairil said.

He added that Pas strongly condemns the Islamophobic narrative promoted by the top leaders of DAP.

"This statement indeed supports the claims made by various parties that DAP has been the official mouthpiece of the Islamophobic movement that opposes Islam worldwide.

"This incident clearly indicates that DAP's ideology and the "Malaysian Malaysia" agenda are not suitable for the multicultural and multi-religious Malaysian society," he added.

Pas urges the Communications and Digital Ministry to take immediate and firm legal action against the top leaders of DAP, who are clearly manipulating extreme racial and religious sentiments.

"Pas believes that the police and relevant ministries will act fairly and impartially, "without fear and favour," especially in cases involving extreme racial and religious sentiments like this," Khairil said.
