SHAH ALAM - Perikatan Nasional (PN) launched its manifesto for the Selangor state election at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in here today.

The manifesto, which was declared by PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, outlined seven key pillars of the party's vision for Selangor Baharu.

These pillars are: vibrant harmony society, improved people's lives, principles of clean governance and politics, economy of the whole future, women are the core of society and state economy and sustainable environment and sustainable infrastructure.

Muhyiddin said that PN is committed to "defending the nobility of the Federal Constitution and State Constitution, including upholding Islam as the Federal religion and His Majesty the Sultan Selangor as the Head of Islam in the state of Selangor."

He also said that PN is determined to protect the right of each individual to practice their own religion without marginalising the rights of any group to live a peaceful, harmonious and prosperous life.

"For this purpose, PN will provide a special Selangor Harmony fund amounting to RM10 million to non-governmental organisations (NGOs) for the implementation of programmes that foster harmony in multi-racial communities," he said.

Muhyiddin went on to announce an array of initiatives, including: Prihatin Keluarga Selangor: An allocation of RM312 million to aid 65,000 families with a monthly assistance of RM400 for essential goods, water subsidy: account holders with an income of RM15,000 and below will receive 20 cubic meters of free water, healthcare initiatives: Skim Prihatin Sihat will provide basic treatment and takaful consultation for 250,000 beneficiaries and education support: Selangor EduStart scheme will provide RM1,500 for first-year Selangor students and RM500 for all new matriculation students.

The Pagoh MP also announced special allowance for civil servants: all civil servants in Selangor will receive an additional two months' special allowance, support for small businesses: Gerai Prihatin Rakyat and Selangor Restart Fund will provide financial support to businesses, Selangor Riders Scheme: an annual subsidy of RM700 for riders, Selangor fishermen's care assistance initiative: an annual subsidy of RM5 million to support fishermen, exemptions: dee exemption for hawker stalls for five years and vehicle parking fee waivers in north Selangor and support for childcare: Selangor Caring Care Initiative (APS) will offer RM150 in childcare fee assistance.
