KUALA SELANGOR - Barisan Nasional candidate for the Sungai Burong State Legislative Assembly seat, Mohamad Khir Ramli rejects the claim of disunity happening among the leadership of Umno in the Tanjong Karang division.

Mohamad Khir or better known as Ustaz Khir said there was no disagreement regarding his nomination for the state assembly seat and everything was accepted with an open heart.

"I admit that as a new face candidate, I may not be as popular, but with strong support from the party machinery, including from the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition, I am confident that there will be no issue of division," he said when met in Pekan Tanjong Karang, today.

Commenting on the progress of the state election campaign, the Tanjong Karang division Umno deputy chief said the campaign was running smoothly, and the party machinery was now in full gear to ensure that the Sungai Burong state assembly seat remained with Barisan Nasional.

Furthermore, he added that the campaign also received assistance from Umno divisions in Ledang and Sembrong (Johor), as well as Pensiangan and Penampang (Sabah).

When asked about his focus if he won the state assembly seat, Mohamad Khir said he has a clear vision, aiming to transform Sungai Burong into an agro-tourism and agricultural hub.

He emphasised that the potential was there and needed attention, especially to enhance tourist attractions by offering more homestays and diverse agricultural activities, including paddy fields and vegetables.

"In addition to improving the socio-economy and employment opportunities, I don't want the younger generation to keep leaving to work in other cities," he explained.
