KUALA LUMPUR - The Transport Ministry has instructed Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd (ERL) to submit a report on the combined services with KLIA Transit, which took place last week.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook said the two services were merged for travel to and from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).

"KLIA Transit and KLIA Express are two different services, KLIA Express is intended to ensure smooth service from KL Central to KLIA.

"When we get the report later (from ERL) we will reprimand and make sure the service is not affected," he said at a press conference after officiating the Aviation Safety Seminar 2023 on Tuesday.

This decision to combine KLIA Express and KLIA Transit services occurred last Sunday due to a disconnection of the runway overhead wire at Kilometer (KM) 5.0.

Folliwing that incident, single-track operations were implemented to facilitate necessary repairs.
