SHAH ALAM - The government and the opposition need to agree on the allocation given to members of Parliament and State Assembly Members on both sides if they want to realise a reconciliation plan for the sake of the people.

Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) supreme council member, Mohd Rafiq Mohd Abdullah, claimed that the distribution of allocations given to opposition representatives is not the same as the government's while it is for the people's use.

"The reconciliation plan must start with justice, why is it that they are busy fighting and cannot reconcile? Because they are denying the rights of the people, if there is no plan where will peace come?

"That's why I say as long as the allocation is not adjusted, reconciliation cannot be achieved. The people vote and choose but there is also favouritism in the allocation, it should start with sincerity," he said.

Rafiq was speaking at the Sinar Wacana programme, 'Peaceful Plan: Realisation Or Political Dream' which was broadcasted live on all of Sinar's Facebook page.

Also on the panel was Pas Youth Information Head, Khairul Nadzir Helmi Azhar; Amanah Communications Director Khalid Abdul Samad and Johor UMNO Youth Leader, Noor Azleen Ambros.

Meanwhile, Ismail Adnan acted as moderator.

Mohd Rafiq added, if the matter reaches a consensus and a meeting point between the government and the opposition, then there will be no problem.

"So, if you want to make peace, there must be an understanding and an agreement that is agreed upon by all parties.

"In addition, the rights of the Malays and Muslims cannot be touched, everyone needs to understand and agree on the matter. If there are no conflicts, the government will be stable and will be able to drive the country's economy," he said.
