Red Shirts will go on the ground if PN Youth continues demonstration – Jamal

SHAH ALAM - The Red Shirts group led by Sungai Besar Umno division chief Datuk Seri Jamal Md Yunos will not hesitate to protest on Saturday if Perikatan Nasional (PN) Youth holds the 'Selamatkan Malaysia' rally on the day.
Jamal said he held a meeting with friends to mobilise the Red Shirts Rally to combat against the PN Youth movement.
“The Red Shirts has no issues, I have met with my friends. If not tens of thousands, I am confident thousands of Red Shirts will be present if PN Youth continues the assembly.
“However, Sept 16 is Malaysia Day, I don’t want the day to be tainted by a demonstration with a negative perception of the nation for tourists and other countries,” he said on Facebook live on Wednesday.
PN Youth chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari in a press conference on Sunday said he would mobilise a peaceful assembly on Sept 16 in front of the Sogo shopping complex following Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s dismissal not amounting to an acquittal (DNAA) in relation to Yayasan Akalbudi case.
Fadhli later said the rally might be held at a different location, in Bukit Bintang.
Jamal said he did not agree with the PN Youth’s actions to hold an assembly to influence the public into hating Umno as well as its president.
“If they wanted to hold a demonstration to incite individuals towards hating our president, what’s wrong with us performing a demonstration to tell the public that PN Youth’s words were lies?
“They represented MPs who should release statements and debate in Parliament, but why would you incite the public by making a demo in a public space that could disturb public order,” he said.
He stated Zahid had the right to appeal for dismissing the 47 cases against him as the charges were politically motivated.
“He suffered for five years (throughout the trial) with insults and pressure received due to the politically charged prosecution.
“At the time no members of the public made a demonstration despite him being a leader who had contributed to the nation, but today, the assembly was planned after the court chose to give the DNAA.
“Why would they (PN Youth) not think of a clean and fair method? They attempted to incite the public to hate Umno and our president and I am prepared to lead the red shirts to explain to the public how the PN assembly was politically motivated,” he said.
