SHAH ALAM – Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) confirms the authenticity of the Pro-Israel hacktivist list which has been making its round on social media.

In a statement, the central bank addressed the Financial Sector Cyber Threat Intelligence Platform (FinTIP) alert that had circulated, noting that BNM and the financial industry regularly share information about potential threats in the cyberspace.

“FinTIP constantly scans the cyber landscape and highlights emerging threats including potential escalation in hacking activities.

“The FinTIP alert allows financial institutions to take appropriate preventive measures to secure their systems and avoid any potential disruption to financial services,” the statement read.

BNM also said that the FinTIP alert was a routine precautionary alert meant for financial institutions and their connected counterparties.

Yesterday, the leaked FinTIP document highlighted a document titled “Threat Alert:Pro-Israel Hacktivist Targeting Malaysian FI in retaliation to DragonForce’s OpsBadai” dated Oct 25.

“While FinTIP has not detected any concrete evidence of hacktivist groups preparing retaliatory attacks against Malaysian organisations in response to DragonForce's actions, there was some unconfirmed intelligence chatter that they are planning to launch DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attacks.

“Despite DragonForce's successful attacks, these groups have not publicly disclosed any impending retaliatory actions,” the document read.

The document also listed pro-Israel hacktivist groups, some of which had a history of targeting Malaysian organisations.

These groups include Team UCC Operations, Kerala Cyber Xtractor, SilentOne, Indian Cyber Force, Garuna Ops, Israel Cyber Defence, Termux Israel, Anonymiss, Gaza Parking Lot Crew, and Silencer of Evil.

It was reported that Dragon Force successfully breached several websites and banking institutions in Israel last week.

The hacker group not only infiltrated Israeli banks but also exposed the banking information of undocumented immigrants to the public.

According to reports, some individuals managed to make purchases of luxury goods using this leaked information.

As a result of these events, Dragon Force's accounts on the X application had been suspended.
