SHAH ALAM – Bersatu members reaffirmed their steadfast commitment to the party’s leadership under the administration of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

This has been revealed by the Bersatu secretary-general, Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin, who was responding to external attempts to sow discord within the party, notably through actions taken by Kuala Kangsar and Labuan MP.

Previously, on Oct 12, Kuala Kangsar MP Datuk Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid announced his decision to support the Prime Minister's leadership.

Iskandar said the decision was made after examining the continuous complaints of voters and the urgent need to deal with the rising cost of living faced by his constituents.

Meanwhile, Labuan MP Datuk Suhaili Abdul Rahman of Perikatan Nasional (PN) on Oct 30 declared his support for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

In his statement, Suhaili said the decision was made after considering the grievances of the people of Labuan who are burdened by the rising cost of living and persistent water and power disruptions.

Despite these challenges, Bersatu remains deeply committed to strengthening the PN alliance, which received a strong mandate and considerable public support in the recent general and state elections.

“Due to this, Bersatu will not compromise on any disciplinary misconduct among its members, especially involving MP or state assemblymen,” it said in a statement.

To uphold these principles, Bersatu Supreme Leadership Council has decided that the State Leadership Councils will assume management of the Kuala Kangsar and Labuan divisions while awaiting the decisions of the Disciplinary Board regarding the two division leaders, who also hold MP positions.

“Deputy President, Datuk Radzi Jidin, has been appointed as the Federal Territories state leadership council head with immediate effect, replacing Suhaili,” Hamzah said.
