In the Dewan Rakyat session, Ahmad also said Malaysia was almost done paying for 1MDB’s debt.

He said a total of RM4.65 billion (USD1 billion) was expected to be received from the International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC) in 2024.

This, he said meant that the overall balance in the trust account amounting to RM9.85 billion was sufficient to cover the 1MDB's debt commitment amounting to RM5 billion.
