KLANG - The local government election (PBT) to elect the mayor and councillors require a win-win situation with the people's rights being prioritised.

Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu in this regard said that further and more extensive discussions on the proposal needed to take place.

"This is because when it comes to the proposal stage, (in) our proposal there must be a win-win situation so that all races feel satisfied and safe," he said on Sunday.

Mohamad, who is also the Kota Raja Member of Parliament, made these remarks while delivering his concluding speech at the Amanah National Convention 2023 at a hotel here.

The representative had time to read Sinar Harian during the break session in conjunction with the 2023 Amanah National Convention.

However, he added that local authority elections should be considered in the future because elected local authorities would perform better in their duties.

"If they are elected by the people, they have to work really hard and not for the interests of the party leader but he has to win the people's heart.
