In conjunction with Melaka State Open Day on 20 Feb, 10 tourism spots will be open to the public without any entrance fees.

According to a statement by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh recently, this special offer is also in conjunction with the Commemorative Day of the Declaration of Independence of the Federation of Malaya.

Travellers can also enjoy free parking facilities under the supervision of the local authorities in the state.

Furthermore, a special event commemorating the Declaration of Independence of the Federation of Malaya will be held in Banda Hilir with a grand procession.

In addition to reenactments of Tuanku Abdul Rahman's arrival in front of the Independence Declaration Memorial at 4pm, the iconic car with registration number M4442 will also be paraded.

Following a well-arranged itinerary, the reading of the independence scroll by the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, will be followed by Quranic recitations and prayers.

The evening programme will be enlivened by the Aneka Warna Night showcasing a musical theatre performance entitled ‘On the Ruins of Our Melaka City, We Build a New Nation’ at the courtyard of the Melaka Sultanate Malay Museum.

1. Melaka River Cruise

– 15 boats available at three jetties: Pengkalan Rama Jetty, Taman Rempah Jetty, and Muara Jetty.

2. Taming Sari Tower

– Open from 9am to 5pm.

3. Melaka Zoo

– Open from 10am to5 pm.

– Operates on a 'first come first serve' basis, so make sure to arrive early.

4. Al-Khawarizmi Observatory

– Open from 9am to 5pm.

5. Melaka Wonderland & Theme Park

– Open from 6pm to 10pm.

6. Melaka State Marine Park

– Free for diving activities only.

7. Five golf clubs in Melaka

– Free for green fees.

8. Malaysia Melaka Prison Museum

– Open from 9am to 5pm.

9. Malaysia Heritage Studios

– Open from 10am to 6pm.

10. 21 museums under the Melaka Museum Corporation (PERZIM)

– Open from 9am to 5pm.
