SHAH ALAM - Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) must prepare itself two years in advance for the 16th General Election (GE16) to ensure that party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim remains as Prime Minister for a second term.

To make this a reality, PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli announced two new frameworks namely the Party Organisation Empowerment Framework (POP25) in conjunction with PKR's 25th anniversary and KEMAS16 to face GE16.

He said both frameworks were aimed to strengthen the party from the grassroots level so that it could prepare for the upcoming general election.

"After the launch, the entire leadership and strength of the party will be mobilised to go down to the states periodically, then we will go down to the branches, marking the preparation for GE16 starting today (Sunday).

"It will be accompanied by complete targets and clear metrics.

"We hope that the preparations made two years earlier will ensure that Anwar remains as Prime Minister after GE16," he said.

The Economy Minister said this during the 25th PKR convention held at the Ideal Convention Centre (IDCC), here, today.

Among the aspects to be focused on in the frameworks were training leaders at the state level before grassroots engagement, digitisation of branch affairs and operations through an integrated system, setting a minimum number for cooperative member additions and party member increase per branch, ensuring a minimum number of trained and active communication personnel per branch and stipulating a minimum number of new branches.
