Legoland Malaysia launched the Legoland School Challenge 2024 at an event held at Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Damansara.

The event expanded its reach, welcoming students from all over Asia including China, Taiwan, India, Korea, and Japan to participate.

The challenge specifically aims to allow students to compete in building the best Legoland set based on its annual theme, where this year falls under World of Fantasy, to further encourage the next generation to build an innovative mindset.

The programme has been ongoing for the last two years, with the last two year's theme being Pride of Your State, followed by Cities of the Future.

Among the latest objectives for Legoland are to launch hands-on and online workshops on Lego building available for students across Asia, as well as the distribution of 2500 bricks of Lego to 50 schools.

"We want Malaysia to become the leader in education and entertainment. For now, we are grateful for the continuous support of the Arts and Culture Ministry in providing us with resources to be where we are now," Lim added during his speech at the launch event.

"We hope our teachers and students unleash their imagination and creativity by bringing Lego to life. Happy competing with the theme of World of Fantasy, and this is your opportunity to shine," he ended his speech.

Education Ministry director-general representative, sports, co-curricular, and arts division deputy director, Ithnin Mahadi, was also present at the event.

"This challenge serves to nurture creativity, innovation, and critical thinking skills," he said.

He further emphasised how it aligns with the objective of the Education Ministry, which is to enhance the education experience for students across Malaysia.

"We initiate visual tools to provide necessary skills with learning with their teachers along the way and preparing students to tackle future challenges and become well-equipped," he added.

"I would like to take this time to thank Legoland for this initiative for the education enrichment programme that not only recognises the invaluable contribution of teachers but also embodies our commitment to providing quality education enriched with STEM elements.

"I have confidence that Legoland will be able to be more successful and build the next generation of innovators," he concluded.
