KUALA LUMPUR — Uniqlo Public Relations and Sustainability Manager Zoe Liew has responded to the recent allegations against the company circulating on social media. Uniqlo has come under fire after several individuals, claiming to be former employees, accused senior management of bullying, favouritism and mistreatment.

In a statement to Sinar Daily, Liew confirmed that Uniqlo is taking the matter seriously and will investigate the claims.

"Uniqlo is aware of the recent social media sentiments and will take appropriate action after looking into the facts of the matter," the statement read.

They also said that they were committed to ensuring a fair and respectful workplace for all employees, and were taking all feedback received from former and current employees seriously.

On Jan 18, Uniqlo Malaysia's official Instagram account shared post highlighting the Chinese New Year festive sale. Unexpectedly, the comment section was flooded by individuals claiming to be former employees, who began recounting their experiences with the company.

One commenter warned, "To those who are thinking of joining this company please rethink your decision if you guys don't want your life to be so miserable."

Another user, claiming to be the husband of a current Uniqlo employee, said his wife faced excessive workloads and invasions of her personal life.

The Uniqlo team responded to the user on the same post, assuring that his concerns were raised to the relevant department.
