SHAH ALAM – A search and rescue operation is underway for 19-month-old Hud Aryan Mohd Nor Hafifi, who has been missing since Monday evening in Kampung Aira, Kuala Tiga, Tanah Merah.
Authorities, including the police and fire department, have been actively involved in the search and rescue (SAR) operations, with assistance from the local community.
Hud was last seen at his grandmother’s house, located about 90 metres from a nearby stream. His disappearance has left his family devastated as efforts to locate him continue.
Here's a breakdown of the case and the ongoing search efforts:
Feb 24, Monday
Hud Aryan was reported missing around Maghrib on Monday when he was at his grandmother’s house.
According to Azean Irdawaty Ramley, 44, the sister of Hud Aryan’s mother, the incident occurred around 7pm amid light rain.
Hud’s mother, Azean Nur Atikah, 34, had just fed him and stepped into the kitchen to wash her hands and dishes.
She further said a visiting relative had unknowingly left the front door open. Within 10 minutes, the aunt asked about Hud’s whereabouts, and the family realised he was missing.
Despite immediate searches around the house, he was nowhere to be found.

On Tuesday, Tanah Merah Fire and Rescue Station Senior Fire Officer II Mohd Asmadi Ariffin confirmed that they received an emergency call about Hud’s disappearance at 8.02pm.
A rescue team was dispatched immediately, covering a distance of 26 kilometres and arriving at the scene at 8.49pm.
An SAR operation involving villagers was conducted around the area but yielded no clues.
The authorities expanded their efforts, bringing in specialised units, including the Water Rescue Team (PPDA) and the K9 Detection Unit, to help track the missing boy.

According to Azean Irdawaty, her sister had suffered five miscarriages before successfully giving birth to Hud. The family is urging the public to pray for his safe return.
She also shared that some religious figures visited the home and assured the family that Hud Aryan was safe and believed to be near the house.
“All of them said the same thing—that Hud is safe and behind my mother’s house. Our home is near a dense forest and a rubber plantation,” she told Sinar Harian on Tuesday.
However, searches in the nearby jungle and rubber plantations have yet to provide any leads.

Authorities are now considering the possibility that Hud may have fallen into a nearby drainage system.
Tanah Merah Fire and Rescue Chief Mohd Zulkifli Osman said that while this remained a strong possibility, they also did not rule out the chance that he might have wandered into the surrounding forest.
On Tuesday, the search radius was expanded to two kilometres from Hud’s grandmother’s house, but no new leads were found.
Two tracker dogs from the Fire and Rescue Department were deployed to assist in finding possible tracks that could indicate whether Hud was in the drainage system or lost in the forest.
The search effort involved 20 fire and rescue personnel, with additional support from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and the Civil Defense Force (APM).
Meanwhile, Tanah Merah District Police Chief Superintendent Mohd Haki Hasbullah confirmed that there were no elements of foul play in Hud’s disappearance.
“This case is being treated purely as a missing person case, and no criminal activity is suspected,” he stated.
He also confirmed that the family had not received any ransom demands or suspicious offers.
The search continuestoday, with two K9 detection dogs focusing on a three-kilometer area covering both land and river sections.
Authorities are using a combination of search techniques, including tracking from Hud’s home up to three kilometres into the forest and along the riverbanks.
Haki has urged the public not to spread misleading information or rumours that could distress Hud’s family.
“We advise the public to refrain from sharing false or damaging news about this case,” he added.
