Iftar Ala Madinah ensures comfort for people with disabilities
The Iftar Ala Madinah @Karangkraf 2025 programme runs from March 3 to 27 except on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

SHAH ALAM – The Iftar Ala Madinah @Karangkraf initiative continues to bring the joy of breaking fast in a welcoming atmosphere, offering not just free meals but also a comfortable space for people with disabilities (PWD).
Former lorry driver Mohammad Razali Abdullah, 54, expressed his gratitude for the special area designated for individuals like him, allowing them to enjoy iftar without worry.
Born with a physical condition that makes it difficult for him to bend his legs or sit cross-legged for long periods, Razali found the initiative to be a blessing.
“Alhamdulillah, having a dedicated space for PWD like me makes it much easier to break fast with everyone else without worrying about comfort or feeling like a burden.
“This is a great help for PWD looking for a place to have iftar. They can come to Kompleks Karangkraf, where not only is food provided for free, but other facilities are also available,” he told Sinar.
The Iftar Ala Madinah @Karangkraf 2025 programme runs from March 3 to 27, welcoming up to 1,500 guests daily for free iftar, except on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
Following the overwhelming response in previous years, the programme once again offers visitors an experience similar to breaking fast at Masjid Nabawi, fostering a sense of unity among Muslims and the wider community.
Razali also highlighted how the initiative provides much-needed relief to those struggling with rising living costs, ensuring that even those with limited means can enjoy a proper meal during Ramadan.
“For people like me with a limited income, a programme like this is a real lifesaver. I no longer have to stress about the cost of meals because everything here is provided for free.
“It eases my burden and allows me to experience a complete and fulfilling iftar throughout Ramadan,” he said.
Adding to the vibrant atmosphere, this year’s Iftar Ala Madinah @Karangkraf features affordable food stalls, offering visitors more dining options at budget-friendly prices.
“Visitors can simply walk in, and if they’re craving something like roti john or a sweet drink, it’s all available here—at prices cheaper than those at Ramadan bazaars.
“There’s no need to deal with crowded spaces—just come and enjoy the Madinah-style iftar experience,” he added.
Razali also encouraged the public to stay updated via Sinar Harian or social media to obtain the QR code required for attendance registration.
“This system makes things much more convenient.
“So, register early to secure a spot and don’t miss out on the chance to break fast under the open sky here,” he said.
