SUPERMODEL-turned-entrepreneur Zahnita Wilson has faced a challenging period, navigating a public divorce and allegations of abuse while building her business, Zahnita’s Humble Pie.

Speaking as a panelist at Sinar Daily’s ‘She Leads 6: Crowned in Confidence – Smart Money Moves to Thrive Financially,’ she openly reflected on her journey.

At an event dedicated to empowering women to overcome financial insecurity, she shared how faith, community and a deep passion for giving back became the foundation of her resilience.

“Honestly, I left it to God and the people around me—my followers, my small community. They saw that I was struggling, even though I was trying to hide it behind little skits and humour.

“Somehow, the right people could see through my act, even when I thought I was masking my pain,” she said.

While she acknowledged the challenges of navigating personal hardships under public scrutiny, she kept her struggles in perspective.

Zahnita felt that simply coming out on social media and saying, “I am suffering, this is happening to me,” would be unfair, knowing that many others endure far worse—some even facing unimaginable horrors.

Keeping that perspective helped her navigate her struggles with a sense of gratitude and resilience.

“The past few months have been a whirlwind, but my struggles did not just start recently—I have been battling this for the past 10 years.

“I had to find a way out of financial abuse, physical abuse, emotional abuse, dealing with narcissistic personality disorder; it was incredibly challenging.

“The only way I could escape was by educating myself, learning how to break free from such a heavy situation, and slowly finding my way back into society,” she added.

Ironically, her business journey began with a craving.

“It all started with me missing home. I just wanted to eat an Aussie Pie, so I made one and posted it on Instagram. Then someone asked if they could order and I said sure. Soon, my neighbors started ordering and before I knew it, the whole country was ordering—alhamdulillah.

“When I saw the numbers, I was shocked. I had written business plans before and I knew I had to chase this opportunity,” she said.

But for Zahnita, success was not just about profit—it was about purpose.

“The most important thing I did was set my ‘niat’—my intention—behind the business. It was not just about making money; I wanted to give back.

“I am committed to donate 18 per cent of my gross profit to charity. I truly believe that is what has made my business successful. My ‘niat’ for charity is what keeps it growing,” she shared.

Through faith, resilience and a heart for giving, Zahnita has turned pain into purpose, proving that even in the darkest moments, new beginnings are possible.
