TalentCorp and Wanita Berdaya Selangor partner to boost women's workforce participation
The collaboration will be spearheaded through the Jelajah Wanita MyWira outreach programme.

SHAH ALAM – Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp), under the Human Resources Ministry (KESUMA), has partnered with Wanita Berdaya Selangor, an initiative under the Selangor State Government, to strengthen women’s participation in the workforce.
The collaboration will be spearheaded through the Jelajah Wanita MyWira outreach programme, aimed at providing women with the necessary resources, skills, and support to enhance their employability and career prospects.
The partnership was made official through a signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the 2025 Wanita MyWira Convention at the Ideal Convention Centre (IDCC), Shah Alam.
The signing was witnessed by Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari and Human Resources Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong, reinforcing their joint commitment to expanding employment and career development opportunities for women across Selangor. Also in attendance was Selangor State Executive Councillor for Women Development and Social Welfare, Anfaal Saari.
Addressing an audience of over 500, Amirudin highlighted the Selangor Government’s dedication to women’s empowerment, emphasizing economic participation as a key pillar of the Selangor Women’s Policy and Action Plan 2024-2026 and the First Selangor Plan (RS-1).

"This collaboration with Kesuma and TalentCorp is timely and will ensure that women in Selangor, especially those from grassroots and middle-income groups, receive the necessary support, skills, and opportunities to thrive," he said.
Jelajah Wanita MyWira, which will run from April to November this year will reach 56 constituencies across Selangor, connecting women with career opportuinities, workforce incentives and employability programmes, with initiative expansion plans including Penang, Johor, Sabah, and Sarawak.
Meanwhile, Sim said that the government is committed to bridging gender gaps in employment through Wanita MyWira, a platform for coordinating women's empowerment initiatives under TalentCorp, including the Career Comeback Programme.

"We must ensure women have equal opportunities to rejoin and excel in the workforce. Through Jelajah Wanita MyWira, we aim to empower 1.4 million women in Selangor by providing direct access to empowerment opportunities and employment incentives under the Madani government," he said.
Held in conjunction with 2025 International Women’s Day, the 2025 Wanita MyWira Convention, hosted by TalentCorp, served as a key platform to empower women with the skills, resources, and opportunities needed to re-enter and advance in the workforce.
The initiative aligns with the government's target of achieving a 60 per cent female labour force participation rate by 2030, reinforcing efforts to ensure women play a significant role in Malaysia’s economic growth.
Meanwhile, TalentCorp Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Thomas Mathew emphasised the organisation's commitment to supporting women's workforce participation and career reintegration under the Wanita MyWira initiative.
“With Career Comeback Programme tax exemptions and hiring incentives in Budget 2024 and 2025, both women and employers benefit, cultivating a more inclusive and sustainable workforce, further strengthened by our sector-based, industry-led MyMahir Future Skills Talent Council,” he said.
He added that the partnership is meant to address the grassroots communities too by sharing the opportunity, empowering more women to return to meaningful careers and contribute to the economy.
Wanita Berdaya Selangor chief executive officer, Faridah Samad said, “We are thrilled to announce the signing of the MoU between Wanita Berdaya Selangor and TalentCorp today, marking a significant step forward in our commitment to empowering women in the workforce in Selangor.
“Through this MOU, we will facilitate workshops, skills training, and networking sessions, enabling participants to enhance their employability and confidence. Furthermore, we will collaborate closely with industry partners to create job placement opportunities, ensuring that women receive not just training but also tangible pathways back into fulfilling careers.”
She highlighted that the partnership is rooted in a shared vision for a more equitable and diverse working environment and urged all parties to break down barriers and foster an ecosystem that allows women to thrive professionally.
The convention featured career-sharing sessions, workshops on flexible work opportunities, insights into emerging career trends, and a resume clinic to support women looking to re-enter the workforce. There were also 18 exhibitors, including JobStreet, VA Asia, Mereka, Teman Malaysia, and more, showcasing opportunities in remote work, gig work, and professional upskilling.
