KUALA LUMPUR - The head of a black panther was found in a freezer at a grocery store in Cameron Highlands, Pahang on Wednesday.
The discovery was made through the Khazanah Integrated Operations by the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (Perhilitan), General Operations Force, Pahang Immigration Department Pahang and community rangers.
The head of the protected species, which had already been frozen was placed along with various other frozen food items.

Perhilitan director-general Datuk Abdul Kadir Abu Hashim said three locals aged between 38 and 68 were arrested at 1.56pm.
He said initial investigations found that the suspects were hunters in the forest.
"As a result of the inspection, a body part of a wildlife suspected to be the head of a black panther was found in a blue plastic bag, which was placed in the freezer of a shop.
"We have seized the head of a black panther and the freezer, estimated to be worth RM115,000," he said when contacted on Thursday.
He added that all suspects were brought to the Cameron Highlands District Police Headquarters for investigation under the Wildlife Conservation Act 2010.
Abdul Kadir said investigations were still ongoing to identify where the threatened wildlife part was obtained.
"Any individuals involved in illegal hunting, trespassing and various wildlife-related criminal activities are reminded to stop or face legal action.
