SHAH ALAM – Police have opened an investigation paper against a local news portal regarding allegations of a corpse discovery linked to the missing person case of Datin Seri Pamela Ling Yueh at a house in Petaling Jaya.

Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the investigation was opened under Section 504 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

“We have opened the investigation paper and the parties involved will be called for statements,” he said when contacted on Tuesday.

On Monday, Sinar Harian reported that police denied the allegation through a screenshot of a news report titled “Police interview Pamela Ling's children and family friend in death investigation.”

The screenshot showed a news report claiming the police interviewed Ling's children and a family friend supposedly to assist in the investigation regarding the discovery of the woman’s body on May 13.

It was also reported that the whereabouts of Ling, who has been reported missing since April 9, were still uncertain, whether she was still in the country or had been taken out.

Police have since recorded statements from 27 witnesses related to the case.

On May 5, the media reported that police were conducting a thorough investigation, including allegations that Ling was abducted by an individual impersonating police officers while on the way to the headquarters of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission in Putrajaya.
