Video exposes illegal parking syndicate demanding payments in Bukit Bintang
The footage is now cited as key evidence in the event of any damage or incident involving the vehicles.

KUALA LUMPUR – Illegal parking syndicates operating in the Bukit Bintang area have triggered outrage after several motorists alleged being forced to pay for parking in public spaces by unidentified individuals.
A video circulating on social media showed a group of men believed to be unauthorised parking attendants demanding payment from drivers, despite having no legal authority to do so.
The clip, widely shared online, was accompanied by complaints from road users who claim such extortion has been ongoing for years, with little or no enforcement by the authorities.
“This has been going on forever, they keep extorting money. If you don't pay, worry the car will be damaged,” read the caption of one viral post on Facebook.
Members of the public also expressed frustration over the implicit threats used by these individuals, describing the environment as unsafe, particularly in a major tourist hub.
The footage is now cited as key evidence in the event of any damage or incident involving the vehicles.
Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) and police were both tagged in the original post, urging immediate investigation and intervention.
However, DBKL has yet to respond to media inquiries or issue any official statement regarding the matter.
Residents are calling for firm enforcement action, stating that the illegal activity not only exploits the public but also undermines the image and safety of one of the capital’s most visited areas.
