Without naming any specific party, he said the party has shown a tendency to simply give in, which he suggested should be a signal for the people to push for a change in leadership.

SHAH ALAM – Bersatu deputy president Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin has criticised a certain party in the current government, accusing them of lacking the courage to challenge or correct their leadership despite what he claimed was ongoing damage to the country.

Without naming any specific party, he said the party has shown a tendency to simply give in, which he suggested should be a signal for the people to push for a change in leadership.

"It is unfortunate that so much damage has already been done to our country, with a party in the government that lacks the courage to prevent or criticise, choosing instead to keep giving in.

"Give Bersatu a chance to govern for the benefit of all Malaysians. It is time for us to bring change. Advance boldly to the battlefield, InsyaAllah, towards victory," he said in his speech during the party's annual general assembly held at the Ideal Convention Centre, here, today.

He added that Bersatu planned to build momentum in Sabah before expanding to other states.

"We begin in Sabah. We will strengthen Sabah. Next year we will capture Melaka and win in Johor. The people will stand with us," he said.

Meanwhile, during a press conference, Hamzah said the party's wings were ready not only to defend its members but also to fight for the people.

He said they had gone down many times to gauge the support from voters and the local community in Sabah.

He expressed confidence that the opportunity for them to establish themselves in Sabah was strong.

On whether Bersatu had set targets for Sabah, Hamzah declined to reveal the details.

"Sometimes when we mention a number, it allows those on the other side to calculate and read our position. So, let us keep that to ourselves.

"It is our own strategy and we will continue to fight for the future of the people of Sabah," he added.
