PM announces RM15.5 billion in stolen funds recovered since 2024
The government has successfully recovered nearly RM15.5 billion in embezzled and stolen funds over the past two years.

SHAH ALAM – The government has successfully recovered nearly RM15.5 billion in embezzled and stolen funds over the past two years, said Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
He said the recovery was made possible through coordinated efforts by several enforcement agencies including the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), the police, the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN), the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (JKDM), and the Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC).
“Most recently, the police successfully dismantled a large-scale organised syndicate operating in Penang and Port Klang.
"This is what we mean when we talk about good governance in administration.
"Imagine, in just two years, RM15.5 billion in embezzled and stolen funds have been recovered," he said when tabling Budget 2026 in the Dewan Rakyat today.
Anwar said the achievement reflects the government’s firm commitment to transparency and accountability under the Madani governance framework, ensuring that public resources are safeguarded and channeled back to the people.
The Finance Ministry officially tabled Budget 2026 today, marking the fourth budget under the Madani administration and the first under the 13th Malaysia Plan (2026–2030).
