SHAH ALAM - He did not just represent the force, he made history.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus became the only police chief to compete in the gruelling Ironman Malaysia and Ironman 70.3 Langkawi 2025, pushing his limits alongside 18 officers and personnel from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).
The event, recently held in Langkawi, marked a proud moment for the force.

Kuala Lumpur police said in a statement that Fadil’s participation demonstrated not only strong leadership but also the unwavering determination and resilience of the police community.
“His participation showcases the physical and mental endurance of our security force personnel.
“It also serves as a symbol of the police force’s resilience in facing extreme challenges,” the statement read.
The prestigious Ironman championship was officiated by Kedah State Executive Councillor for Tourism, Culture, Arts and Entrepreneurship Datuk Mohd Salleh Saidin at Pantai Kok, Langkawi.
The PDRM team also made its mark by clinching second place in the relay category, while in the Ironman 70.3 event, Corporal Muhammad Luqmanul Hakim Hamidi secured third place.

According to the statement, their participation not only strengthened team spirit but also enhanced the image of the police force.
“It has become an inspiration for all police personnel to continue practising a healthy and resilient lifestyle,” it said.
Fadil’s feat served as a reminder that beyond enforcing the law, police officers continued to set examples of discipline, endurance and excellence both in service and in sport.
