Golf great Fuzzy Zoeller dies at age 74
The American was the last debutant to win the Masters, becoming only the third man to claim the Green Jacket in his first appearance in 1979, and lifted the US Open title five years later.

LONDON - Tributes have been paid to two-time golf major winner Fuzzy Zoeller, who has died at the age of 74, according to PA Media/dpa.
The American was the last debutant to win the Masters, becoming only the third man to claim the Green Jacket in his first appearance in 1979, and lifted the US Open title five years later.
Zoeller also won two of the three Ryder Cups he played in but his reputation was forever tainted by racially-insensitive comments made when Tiger Woods won at Augusta in 1997.
"You pat him on the back and say congratulations and enjoy it and tell him not to serve fried chicken next year… or collard greens or whatever the hell they serve,” he said at the time, words he admitted haunted him for the rest of his life.
PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan paid tribute, saying: "Fuzzy was a true original whose talent and charisma left an indelible mark on the game of golf.” - BERNAMA-PA MEDIA/dpa
